I booked a KingsCross to Leeds advance ticket last night (for 16 April)
via trainsplit.com. I forgot to add my senior railcard. It was in the
midst of doing lots of arrangements for the related event, and lots of
other stuff, and late at night, so mea culpa.

https://refunds.trainsplit.com/ suggests I can rebook for a £5 admin fee
(I realised a few minutes too late to be inside the window of
one-hour-after-purchase for no £5 admin fee).

I have e-mailed trainsplit.com to ask if the senior railcard discount
can be applied. What are the chances, or will they say book another
ticket with them and apply for a refund?

I'm not holding out much hope, but thought it was worth an ask. It's my
own silly fault and I take it on the chin.

TIA

AIUI there's no mechanism to modify tickets, ie to add the railcard discount
and partial refund. It's always going to be a cancel and rebook. It's up
to them whether they choose to apply the admin fee or not.

If you have an extra fare to pay there's an 'excess' mechanism that appends
to your existing ticket, but there's no concept of a 'negative excess'.

(not sure if mobile/e-tickets are different, but I assume not)

Or as they stipulate: Rebook then refund (the first).

...checking that the price hasn't risen so much that the discounted new
ticket costs more than the full-price old one (plus any admin fee).

Had a very nice e-mail back from customer services at transplit.com, and
they have offered a full refund, and have treated it as a refund within
one hour as I e-mailed them pretty much straight back. I've also
rebooked the identical itinerary on trainsplit.com (at the same fare
level, happily) *with* my senior railcard.

What nice people at transplit.com: quick, efficient, helpful, no fuss!
