That’s a new one on me!

Surely there are other level crossings where there have been multiple fatal
accidents over the years?

I wonder if there are any cases where there had been a murder on a train
and an apparition appears sitting in seat where it took place, as it
passed over the location?

Could make a good short story or film.

Or a song, though it’s not quite murder.

Bored signalman decides to have a laugh.

If ghosts existed the average hospital would be so haunted no one would ever
want to visit it.

Reminds we when were in our teens and 20’s soon after I moved to the
Southampton area, one of the lads girlfriends came up with a tale that
there was a ghost of a women who got of the last service train at Swanwick
station and walked up the track. Apparently this ghost allegedly was a
patient who had got out of the nearby Knowle mental hospital and got killed
on the railway. We dismissed the tale but the lass was insistent that a
friend who lived there had seen it so one evening we made a point of going
there , much to our surprise after the Hampshire DEMU ( this was pre
electrification )stopped a woman got off and sure enough walked down the
ramp and disappeared along the railway.
We were a bit flabbergasted so a return visit was made a few weeks later,
this time we sat nearer the platform end and waited . Sure enough this
women got off and walked past , my mate who had imbibed a few beers just
enquired “ Are you a ghost? “ “ No I’m effing not “came the blunt reply.
“Why are you walking down the track , it could be dangerous “ said one of
our group.
Her reason apparently was her husband a track worker had installed an
unofficial gate in the fence to the garden of their house which adjoined
the line about 50 yards down and she used the track as short cut.
Presumably she was some sort of shift worker who came home late quite
often.

Thanks, a colleague told me about that "ghost" when I first moved to
Southampton (he lived in Swanwick). He believed it totally.
Unfortunately I can't enlighten him as he passed away a couple of yeras ago.

Slightly disappointed that it isn't about a ghost train.

Are there any ghost trains with level crossings?
